Autodesk Pre-Plan
Stand-alone Autodesk® Pre-Plan® makes it easy for first responders to exploit the
rich, accurate building information contained in CAD drawings for tactical
and fire attack preplans – a key element in your overall emergency response
planning, training, and action strategy.
In minutes or hours, not days, even nontechnical personnel can clean up complex
digital architectural drawings – sometimes cluttered with hundreds of
building information layers – so they make immediate sense to public
safety personnel and first responders. Drop in illustrative police, hazardous
materials, and firefighting symbols, and you've gone a long way toward emergency
preparedness.
More good news: Autodesk Pre-Plan is 100 percent compatible with DWG files,
the world's leading format for storing building information. So it's the best
choice for converting existing electronic floor plans into the tactical and
fire attack preplans you need today.
Simply Effective: How to Use Autodesk Pre-Plan
- Start up Autodesk Pre-Plan and open your CAD drawing. At a glance you
can see the drawing, a list of its layers, and a list of target categories
into which you'll logically group the layers you want to save.
- Isolate each drawing layer in turn with a single mouse click.
- If the layer is irrelevant for your purpose, erase it with a single click;
the drawing updates automatically.
- If you want to keep a layer, drag it into the appropriate target category,
such as Doors, Walls, Structural, Columns, and Alarms; the drawing updates
automatically.
- Drag standard police, hazardous materials, and firefighting symbols
into the cleaned up drawing.
